Theodore V. Burba Memorial Plaque
The Roger B. Chaffee Scholarship Fund has presented Northview High School with a Memorial Plaque in honor of Theodore V. Burba (1942 - 2020) for his lifelong dedication to education and his 22 years of leadership and support as a Director and Vice President of the Scholarship Fund. The Fund was created in 1967 following the January 27, 1967 Apollo 1 disaster in which Lt. Comdr. Roger B. Chaffee perished together with fellow Astronauts Gus Grissom and Edward White.
Since its inception the Scholarship has been awarded annually to an outstanding student in the Kent Intermediate School District intending to pursue a career in engineering, mathematics or the sciences relating to space technology. This has included Northview High School Scholars:
