Kyle is an honor student at Rockford High School. He plans to focus on a course of study in biomedical engineering. Kyle’s goal is to become an orthopedic surgeon.  

Kyle’s recommendations were absolutely glowing. His algebra teacher stated, “Kyle is a hard to beat combination -Extremely bright, hardworking, and very personable. He has a very friendly, relaxed attitude about life. His combination of attributes will make him a real success in whatever field he chooses. He is one of my best overall students ever.”  

Kyle’s Physiology teacher stated, “Not only was he the top student in my Honors class, but he displayed a maturity beyond his years. Kyle could always be counted on for thoughtful and intelligent answers to critical questions. His analytical thinking skills are superior, showing excellent basics not only in science but a broad educational knowledge in general. His commitment to excel was unmatched by any other student I have had. Kyle has this most positive personality that adds greatly to the environment of the classroom.”  

Kyle’s extra-curricular activities include National Honor Society member, three-time academic letter recipient, Youth Initiative member, Fellowship of Christian Athletes member, Varsity Math Team, Principal’s Honor Roll, Student Council Representative.   Kyle’s community activities include mission trip to Mexico, Football camp, Youth Group, assistant for a second grade classroom and a kindergarten teacher assistant. Wheelchair sports camp Volunteer, God’s Kitchen Volunteer, Youth Football Clinic Volunteer.  

Other awards Kyle received include  Academic All-State team for Football and Tennis. Student of the Month, freshman year. Invitee to the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. Two-time Champion at State Math Competition. Harvard Prize Book recipient. National Merit Semifinalist, Valedictorian.  

The Roger B. Chaffee scholarship fund is proud to have Kyle as its 37th scholar.
